Saint-Gobain Abrasives Showcases Performance Solutions at IHF 2018

Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Hall 10.2, stand H-041, Eisenwarenmesse – International Hardware Fair, Cologne, Germany, 4-7 March, 2018

Conflans, France (18 January 2018): Saint-Gobain Abrasives, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of performance abrasives, will present its broad portfolio of hardware solutions at this year’s Eisenwarenmesse – International Hardware Fair.


From industrial applications to trade products and DIY – there is something for everyone on the Saint-Gobain Abrasives stand, where a number of the company’s brands will be presented. Visitors will be able to view live demonstrations of the Saint-Gobain Abrasives’ total performance solutions for right angle grinders, as well as a wide range of abrasives and components for industrial use and retail trade. The company will also unveil its latest graphic updates for the Rasta and Flexovit brands, and will celebrate the 60th anniversary of Flexovit.


Norton Industrial Applications

The highlight of the Saint-Gobain Abrasives stand will be the demo booth showcasing the complete Norton range of performance solutions for right angle grinders, including the company’s latest innovations, Norton Quantum3 Combo Ultra-Thin Grinding Wheel. The live step-by-step demonstrations, presented by Saint-Gobain experts, will provide tips and advice on how to get the best results, whatever the application or metal being worked on. The full portfolio of right angle grinder products for the key processes in metal fabrication, from cutting-off through to polishing, will also be displayed on the stand. Visitors will learn how Saint-Gobain Abrasives can save end-users time and money, while distributors will benefit from a one-stop-shop for their metal fabrication customers. 


The Norton Clipper range for construction markets, which now includes abrasives for hand and machine sanding, and cutting-off and grinding wheels will be exhibited, together with diamond cutting and drilling products.


Flexovit & Rasta

Flexovit will celebrate its 60th anniversary at the show. Founded in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 1958, the company has evolved from a local grinding wheel manufacturer to a global supplier of a wide portfolio of abrasive solutions. The new identity for the Flexovit retail range a will also be presented with its brand new look and feel. Trade and DIY products will be featured, showcasing a range of hand and machine sanding products for various applications.


In the export market, the newly rebranded Rasta Abrasives range will be exhibited. Visitors will have a first look at the new packaging design, developed to make products more easily identifiable, aiding customer selection. In addition, the new structured offering of four sub-brands  clearly define ‘good’, ‘better’, ‘best’ and ‘best innovation’ quality and performance with solutions for all industrial applications. Of particular note are the latest Specialist Line cutting off discs, which offer improved performance, delivering longer life than previous versions.


DIY focus

The new Norton Garden range of abrasives for the DIY market will be previewed at the show ahead of the launch later this year. Products to be introduced include abrasives for sanding by hand and machine, wire brushes, diamond blades, thin wheels and Beartex pads, for applications such as sharpening garden tools to restoring outdoor furniture. Filling a gap in the market, this latest addition is aimed at the French, German and UK consumers, offering them a total solution for garden DIY from a single supplier.


Also on display is our range of sandpaper for DIY applications, Norton Expert. Visitors will be able to view hand and machine products for all stripping, sanding and finishing needs and materials, incorporating the latest technology and designed to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding DIY-er.
